I’m a film critic based in Oklahoma, a long way from my birth home in the UK. My path into criticism wasn’t traditional and started shortly after leaving the British Army. Going to the cinema became both an escape and a creative outlet to inform my friends and family about all the latest movies. I began by posting on TikTok at the beginning of 2024 and secretly writing reviews to hone my skills before launching this website!

Since then I’ve written too many reviews to count and have freelanced for the incredible Eddie Harrison over at film-authority (go check him out!). I’m a member of the Oklahoma Film Critics Circle and have participated in awards voting, as well as covering the Sundance Film Festival online and soon SXSW in person as an accredited critic.

Having lived in both the United Kingdom and the United States, I try to approach films with a cross-cultural perspective, paying particular attention to how tone, humour, and themes translate across audiences.

My goal is to always be honest with my reviews and provide fair analysis on why a film works (or doesn’t), and who it might connect with, whether it’s a major studio blockbuster or a small independent release.
